Is Tillamook ice cream affected by the January 2009 peanut butter recall?

Due to the recent outbreak of salmonella in peanut products from Peanut Corporation of America, we want to assure our consumers that this recall does not involve any of our ice cream products containing peanut butter. 

The peanut butter vendors or suppliers that supply the Tillamook County Creamery Association with the peanut butter products used in Tillamook Ice Cream have verified these products are not involved in the peanut butter recall. Their production processes utilize a stringent quality assurance program including testing of their ingredients to ensure that they are free of any contaminations.

Additionally, we assure the quality and safety of all of our ingredients by verification with quality control inspections and certificates of analysis for each lot.  

Most of our Tillamook ice cream flavors are gluten free.  Ice cream flavors listing any ingredients such as pie, cookie dough, cake, etc. will contain gluten.  The following is a list of Tillamook ice cream flavors that do contain gluten: Caramel Toffee Crunch, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, German Chocolate Cake, and Marionberry Pie.

Does Tillamook ice cream contain any allergens?

Each Tillamook ice cream retail carton label has a  "contains" statement that clearly states any major allergen ingredient(s) and we have added bold type to the major allergens in the ingredient listing for your convenience. All of our ice cream products are produced on the same lines.  Any ice creams that contain allergens are produced at the end of the day, followed by a complete system sanitation.  We have no sure way of knowing whether any residual allergens may remain. 

At the ice cream counter in the Visitor's Center, ingredient lists are available upon request and those ice creams that are being dipped for those with allergies are dipped with a fresh clean scooper.
