The always-delicious Pacific Pie Company is one of our favorite joints in Portland – we love their delicious savory pies and pastries and can’t get enough of their dessert pies. The team at Pacific Pie was kind enough to invite us to a special behind-the-scenes class, showing us their best pie tricks! Here are a couple photos from our afternoon:
Sarah and her husband Chris founded Pacific Pie Company in 2009, when Chris was homesick for savory Australia meat pies. The operation has grown a lot in the past five years, with two lovely locations in Portland, where they invite folks to sit down and enjoy a slice.
Sarah taught us that when making a crust, all ingredients should be nice and cold – including the bowl. It was a little chilly on our fingers, but it helps keep the crust keep the right consistency.
