Did you know Sweden has been participating in the Olympics for over a hundred years? In that time, they’ve taken medals home at all Olympic Games except two! I wonder if they fuel up for the games with their famous Swedish Meatballs. Swedish Meatballs are full of protein plus they can be easily prepared in a crock pot to allow for extra Olympic training!
This recipe for Swedish Meatballs is for the true Olympian. For a healthier and high protein option, I substituted sour cream for Greek yogurt. The result was delish!
1 slow cooker (my slow cooker is 2-quarts)
½ cup Plain and Simple 0% Farmstyle Greek Yogurt
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 tbsp Milk
1 dash Tabasco sauce
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
Frozen meatballs (if you aren’t too busy training for the Olympics, try this homemade meatball recipe)
1. Mix all the ingredients together for the gravy and add the meatballs.
2. Cook on high heat for about 30 minutes then switch to low heat for another hour. I actually let the gravy and meatballs cook for a couple hours while doing chores; it never overcooked! Do be careful when diving in for a bite, it can get quite steamy!
