When I say “smoothie” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Maybe sweet and fruity? Well, those types of smoothies are delicious, but there’s many more types of smoothies, and some that are more focused on getting vegetables into the mix. This smoothie combines green veggies, green fruit, and a good dose of protein through creamy Tillamook Farmstyle Greek Yogurt. No matter what time of day, this smoothie is a perfect way to get a serving of veggies and protein in a yummy way.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Total time: 12 minutes

Yield: 2 smoothies

 

Ingredients
½ English cucumber, diced
2 collard green leaves, cut into small pieces
1 kiwi, peeled and diced
1 container (5.3 oz) of Plain and Simple Farmstyle Greek Yogurt
2 mint ice cubes (see this blog post for how to make)
½ cup of ice
1 lemon, juiced
1 green apple, diced
½ cup green tea, cold

Note: this smoothie is not very sweet! If you want to sweeten it up a little, use some honey, agave nectar, or you could also add more fruit such as acai berries, pineapple, or your other favorite fruit!

Preparation
1. Put all ingredients in your blender, starting with the ice cubes.

2. Blend ingredients together on medium-high for 2 minutes, or until thoroughly combined.  If your smoothie feels a little too thick for you to drink, you can add a splash more green tea! Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
