One of the easiest ways to serve food at a holiday party is to put together a big cheese plate! It’s great to have finger food, like cheese, so your guests can pick up one or two at a time instead of committing to a big plate of appetizers.

When you’re picking cheese, remember to include a variety of flavors so there is something for everyone at the party. I used Special Reserve Extra Sharp Cheddar, Vintage White Medium Cheddar, Colby Jack and Hot Habanero Jack for my plate. Cut them into a variety of shapes and sizes (using a cookie cutter on Tillamook Slices adds a fun touch!) and arrange them in different patterns on the tray. I like to add a few larger chunks of cheese so people can cut off more pieces with the smaller pieces are gone. This saves you from having to constantly replenish the plate.

I love to throw a few unexpected details on to my holiday cheese plate, like a drizzle of honey on the spicy Tillamook Hot Habanero Jack or a couple pieces of chocolate to round out the saltiness of the cheese! Add in as many of your favorite finger foods that pair well with cheese as you like. I used grapes, small pieces of apple, walnuts, chocolate and honey, but have fun and add anything!

Alongside the cheese platter, remember to have crackers and/or bread. It’s also great to have variety here too, maybe even throw in some gluten-free crackers for your friends with food allergies!

What are your favorite cheese plate additions?
