What percent of overrun is their in Tillamook ice Cream products?
Thanks for reaching out with your question. The actual percent is considered proprietary, so I unfortunately can’t share that with you. But, please know that less air is whipped into Tillamook Ice Cream, meaning our ice cream weighs about half a pound more per gallon than is the FDA standard. If you compared equal amounts of Tillamook Ice Cream and many of our competitors ice cream, you’d notice that Tillamook is heavier – this is due to whipping in less air when it’s made, leaving more creamy ice cream in every container.
All the best,
Amalya of the Tillamook team
I like the taste of your origin strawberry ice cream but I noticed that their isn’t anything to swallow when it melts. I would assume that your product is about 80% air. If that is not the case then I am concerned about what I am swallowing
Tillamook Ice Cream is made with extra cream, not extra air! Our ice cream actually weighs approximately half a pound more per gallon than the FDA standard for a creamy, melt-in-your mouth texture.
I hope that's helpful!
Sierra, of the Tillamook team
