It is June Dairy Parade week! All across Tillamook County and several points beyond, floats are being built, instruments are being tuned, dancers are rehearsing, and cars and trucks are being polished to a high shine. The parade is Saturday, June 28, and there’s still a lot to do. We are some of those who are still working on building and decorating a float for Saturday.
The theme for the parade this year is “The Sound of Moosic.” Since Julie Andrews isn’t available to sing atop a mountain built on our parade float, we decided to get creative with a different variation of the theme. You see, the sound of music that the hills in Tillamook County are alive with is actually the sound of mooing coming from barns and pastures.
Without giving too much away, I can tell you that over the next few days, we will finish constructing our little red barn and barnyard. Bling it all out with tons of fringe and festooning. And the rest you will just have to wait and see!
The Tillamook County June Dairy Parade is Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. The parade begins at Goodspeed Park and runs down Third Street before turning on to Main Avenue.
We hope to see you there
