If you’re planning a visit to Tillamook this summer take note of the following events and activities. You don’t want to miss out!
Tillamook Farmers Market
On Saturdays between 9am-2pm (June 14 to September 27) you can visit the Tillamook Farmers Market. The market is set-up on Laurel & 2nd Street. Here you can find over 40 vendors, all from within 100 miles of Tillamook, selling fruits, veggies, eggs, meat, herbs, nuts, flowers, jams, honey, baked goods and prepared foods.
June Dairy Parade
Tillamook is known as the heart of Oregon dairy country, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that there is a parade to honor the areas dairy industry! Come for the creative floats, to celebrate the history and role of dairying in the county and to have fun with the community. Click here to check out photos and stories from past parades. Mark your calendars for June 28 for the 57th annual parade.
Tillamook County Fair
This is one county fair you DO NOT want to miss. In addition to the carnival, livestock, and loads of Tillamook Ice Cream sampling my favorite event at the fair is the world famous “Pig-N-Ford” race. Here you can see contestants driving around the dirt racetrack in Model T Fords holding a 20-pound pig, swapping out pigs at every lap. You just gotta see it to believe it. Mark your calendars for August 6-9, 2014.
For additional ideas on things to do and see in Tillamook be sure to check out this blog post and this post and pay a visit to the Tillamook Chamber of Commerce online or in person at their office, located in Tillamook at 3705 Hwy. 101 North (next to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.)
