The votes are in: three varieties of Tillamook Cheese voted America’s Best!
We’ve got some good news! Three varieties of Tillamook Cheese were voted “America’s Best” at the 2013 United States Championship Cheese Contest®!
Tillamook Colby Jack took “Best of Class” with a score of 99.40. Colby Jack is a veteran on the winners’ stand, previously earning “America’s Best Colby Jack” at the 2011 U.S. Championship! Tillamook Vintage White Extra Sharp Cheddar was voted “Best of Class” receiving a score of 99.45 out of 100, as well as second place in the Aged 2 years or longer Cheddar Category. Tillamook Sharp Cheddar scored 98.65 earning “Best of Class” for Sharp Cheddar aged 6 months to one year. We’re honored to be able to offer these “America’s Best” cheeses to all of our fans!
Held last week in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest® had a record-breaking total of over 1,700 entries, up 100 entries from 2011!!!

Tillamook Sharp is one of my favorite cheeses. That extra bite the Sharp has adds a real kick to a grilled cheese sandwich. Congratulation to all three cheeses. Keep up the good work.

I haven’t had the pleasure of trying all these, of late due to the fact that we have had limted access to Tillamook cheeses! Just recently found them one time in our Sam’s Club in Fayetteville, NC! Would LOVE to be able to have more access and availbility of all varieties of Tillamook products! I grew up on the Cheese’s & LOVE them! (especially the Sharp!)

I have a cottage B & B. Each morning, with a knock on the cottage door, guests are delivered seasonal “Oregon” breakfasts. Ingredients include pastured local eggs, homemade jams of Oregon fruit, yogurt made with organic Oregon milk, free range Oregon meats and Oregon cheeses. Guests appreciate and recognize the Tillamook Cheese name and we all love Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar. It’s a great product, which we always have on hand.

I was just going to “write in” telling you how much I enjoy your Sharp Cheddar Cheese that I purchased at Albertsons last week. About how the texture and taste was so much better than Kraft Cracker Barrel Sharp Cheddar – which for me was the “gold standard” for so many years. But after arriving at your web-site and seeing all the awards you have just won this year…you don’t need me to tell you anything.
I must admit the only reason I purchased your cheese was because:
1. I seemed to have remembered purchasing a Tillamook product before and
found it to be “pretty good”.
2. I remembered the commercials with those two guys in Texas getting
“longhorns” mounted on their van.
3. It was “On Sale” – 2 for 1 – buy one get one free…I “bought 2″ – got 4.
(should have bought ten)
I think America loves it when the “little guy” beats the “big guy” and in my book you have beaten Kraft hands down in the Sharp Cheddar Cheese arena. Don’t change anything! Like I said – taste and texture – it cuts better, it melts better and it tastes better.

The Tillamook White Extra Sharp Cheddar is the BEST cheese in the world ! I usually do not eat cheese unless it is melted or shredded, but this creamy, tasty cheese is perfection, and could seduce an angel ! Yum !!

Congratulations! It must be the wonderful pastureland and the great way you process this cheese that makes the difference. I will bet many would not think of the front end of cheese making, but the right grasses, plenty of water right off the ocean breezes, good animal care and dedicated dairy men, it all adds up to the final product, and if I buy cheese, it is nearly always your brand.
I wish you made some non-fat alpine lace, I would eat more of your product. Also, going into goat cheese would be a new one for you to try. The same great pasture land areas could make some wonderful goat cheeses.
One of my favorites I have when I get to the San Fransisco area is blue cheese on top of some french sour dough bread, for which there is no equal in this area. Oh well, one cannot have it all. The north west is still the best place to live in my book.

I can see why it came out on top…..I was born in Oregon & have lived in Texas for over 30 yrs. A few years ago Tillamook became available here – yea!!!!! It is the BEST!!! My favorite is Medium Cheddar.

Was talking to woman in sams club who had baby loaf of sharp.come to find out she toured the tillamook facility and we both had the same desire for white vintage.After she tasted it @ factory there’s no going back. It’s just not available here in Oklahoma or extremely difficult to find.

We always have known Tillamook is the best! My husband worked at the Pleasant Valley Cheese Factory way back in the 1940s. Tillamook was great then and still maintains that quality after all those years!

We’re a Marine Corps family from the Pacific NW. We’ve been stationed as far west as Hawaii and as far east as North Carolina (our current duty station). I’ve been able to enjoy Tillamook cheese everywhere we’ve been except here in Jacksonville, NC. Today that changed!!! I found Tillamook Pack-It-Pals at the local Sam’s Club here. That was the only Tillamook product they had, but it was like Christmas morning!!! Man have I missed your cheese; and I am so thankful to have finally found it here!!!
