Tillamook Ice Cream: Tastes Better Because It’s Made Better
Nothing beats the fresh, creamy taste of Tillamook Ice Cream. Here at the Co-op we have a little saying: “Tastes Better because it’s Made Better” and we believe that’s the case for all our dairy products. So how is Tillamook Ice Cream made better?
Tillamook Ice Cream is made from the highest quality milk from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*. Our dedication to quality milk means only the best ingredients are used in Tillamook Ice Cream. We also whip less air into our ice cream. Quality ingredients and less air make our ice cream creamier, richer, and helps us win lots of awards!
Being an Oregonian, one of my favorite things about Tillamook Ice Cream is that we use real Oregon berries and other Northwest ingredients. Tillamook Oregon Strawberry and Marionberry Pie Ice Cream are perfect examples.
To learn more about how Tillamook Ice Cream is made (and to try all the flavors!) visit us at the Tillamook Cheese Factory!
What’s your favorite part of Tillamook Ice Cream?
*The FDA has stated that no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rBST treated and non-rBST treated cows.

Our family favors Tillamook Ice Cream over any other brand. We come from very large families and most all agree. Some of our favorites are Brown Cow/ AKA Utterly Chocolate, and your French Vanilla yummy!
Also it is reassuring to know it is a natural product, for all who like to eat ice cream.
The creamy texture and delicious flavor keeps us coming back for more!

How disappointing – you’ve discontinued making White Licorice Ice Cream! It was one flavor you couldn’t buy retail and now to discontinue it at the factory too. Very sad. One less reason to stop at the factory during a trip to the beach. Sigh.

I know, Janice. I’m so sorry. There’s an ingredient in the ice cream that we’re not able to get anymore. It was definitely a crowd favorite. I hope you’ll still find reasons to stop by the Cheese Factory to visit us!

I second Janice’s concern re: White Licorice Ice Cream. I left a note in the comment box after driving from Seattle to your facility for my favorite, White Licorice. What an October disappointment.
Surely the missing ingredient can be found somewhere in the world???

Thanks for sharing your love of White Licorice Ice Cream with us, Richard. If we’re ever able to bring it back, rest assured you’ll hear about it. Until then, I hope there’s another flavor you’ll grow to enjoy just as much.

I grew up in the northwest, and have missed huckleberries ever since I moved away. LOVING the huckleberry ice cream and yogurt in Las Vegas!!

Does Tillamook make any non-dairy products?
June 28th, 2012 at 11:55 am
Thanks for the question, Shirley! Tillamook does not make any non-dairy products. As a farmer-owned cooperative, dairy farming and making dairy products is what we do! Hope that helps! If you have any other questions feel free to leave another comment on the blog or Contact Us.
