Andy

Brand Ambassador and Marionberry Pie Ice Cream fanatic

Andy, what is your favorite Tillamook product?

Oh that's easy: Marionberry Pie Ice Cream. Best ice cream EVER. It's probably the best tasting food I've ever consumed.

Years eating Tillamook:

Since I was born. My mother refused to feed us children anything but Tillamook.

Favorite Tillamook products:

Well Marionberry Pie Ice Cream is my favorite. I've literally bought over 200 gallons of that ice cream. But as for the cheese: the sharper the better. My favorite is the 3 year Vintage White Extra Sharp Cheddar.

Favorite way to eat Tillamook:

There isn't really a bad way to eat Tillamook products. I'm kind of lazy, so I usually eat the ice cream right out of the carton. As for the cheese, I don't even slice or shred it up. I simply unwrap it and take a massive bite. So delicious!

Hobbies & Interests:

I'm obsessed with sports and the outdoors, especially fishing and hiking. I'm looking forward to doing some hiking when the Loaf Love Tour visits Utah.

Dandy Andy’s Cheesetastic Voyage

Great sandwiches come from great ingredients

Being in the last stretch of the Loaf Love Tour, sometimes we Brand Ambassadors need a little boost to lift our spirits. I found my boost in a grilled cheese sandwich.

It all started a few weeks ago at the Los Angeles Zoo. I was one of the fortunate Brand Ambassadors who was working our Mommy Blogger event, but most importantly, I was a judge at the grilled cheese competition. At these Mommy Blogger events, families from the area come and enjoy the great taste of Tillamook cheese, play some games with the Brand Ambassadors, and most importantly, create their own grilled cheese sandwiches that are judged on taste, presentation, and creativeness. I was fortunate enough to be one of these judges. After 13 amazing grilled cheese sandwiches, I thought to myself, “I’m going to create the greatest grilled cheese sandwich in the history of grilled cheese sandwiches!” Thus gave birth to Dandy Andy’s Cheesetastic Voyage.

Ingredients
Tillamook Butter
2 slices of Tillamook Vintage White Medium Cheddar and two slices of Tillamook Sharp Cheddar
2 slices of bread – any kind will do, but I chose French bread
Guacamole. Freshly made or bought at a store. I chose to make my own guacamole using 1 avocado, half of a small onion, half of a tomato, LOTS of jalapenos, salt & pepper, some Chili powder and cayenne pepper, and a pinch of cumin.
About 4 ounces of chicken breast, cut into small slices
4 pieces of bacon

Directions
First, you want to bake the chicken until it is done, and cut it up in little chunks. Next, cook the bacon until it is crispy enough to your likings. Now it is time to spread the outsides of the bread with delicious Tillamook butter, none of that 65% vegetable margarine stuff. Spread the insides of the bread with the guacamole. Add two slices of Tillamook Vintage White Medium Cheddar to one side of the bread and two slices of Tillamook Sharp Cheddar to the other side. Add the chicken and bacon, and away we go. Grill each side of this perfect sandwich on medium heat for about 3 to 4 minutes per side, and your grilled cheese sandwich should look similar to this deliciousness:

I loaf this cheesetastic combination

This sandwich has everything: protein from the meat, healthy fats from the avocado, carbs from the bread for energy, and of course the scrumptiousness of Tillamook’s all natural cheeses. Just look how happy I am as I take a bite of this delicious sandwich!

A mouthful of awesomeness!

If you are ever in a need of a pick-me-up and want a meal that has been defined as a-mouth-full-of-awesome, I’d definitely recommend Dandy Andy’s Cheesetastic Voyage.

Road Trip! Loaf Love Tour Style

Being a Brand Ambassador on the Loaf Love Tour, I can tell you that there is never a dull moment, even when we are traveling from city to city. We have found some very creative ways to entertain one another while covering the long, grueling hauls on the road. But before we actually begin our journey, we have to make sure our Yums are secured in the Daddy Loaf. This is the dreaded process known as “strapping.” After many hours of trial and error, sweat and tears, our Brand Ambassadors have become professionals at securing the Yums in our beloved Daddy Loaf. Once the strapping is complete, we are ready to move on to the next city.

Hard at work

One of the necessities of a good road trip is food, and we Brand Ambassadors have healthy appetites. Whether it’s cheese and crackers, pounds of candy, or day old pizza warmed up ever so slightly by the brutal Texas sun, we Brand Ambassadors vow to never go hungry while on the road. Second to food is the music. Thanks to Cheddar Coy’s auxiliary cord, the Brand Ambassadors take turns streaming music from their phones (the exception being me, Dandy Andy, the only crew member who does not have a smart phone). Every time we cross the border and see the state sign, we stop the vehicle and take a cheesy photo in front of it.

Cheesy even when we're off-duty

One of the more popular games we play in the car is “guess what Disney character I am.”  What you do is think of a Disney character (a lesser known one is best) and the group has to ask yes or no questions until they figure out who the Disney character is. To this day, Tillatastic Ash is the only one to stump the group. Another popular way to entertain each other is taking photos of people when they fall asleep. It wasn’t until this trip to Colorado that they finally got me. About two hours from Amarillo, TX, I dozed off. Huge mistake. TillaMaya was there immediately to get a quick pic. Don’t worry, though, I still have several months left to get TillaMaya back.

Farewell Texas, you have been kind to us. Colorado, we’re glad to be here!
