Farewell to my Cheesy Adventure!
Over the past few days I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing of the whirlwind five months I’ve had on the Loaf Love Tour. I honestly cannot believe how quickly it has all flown by! I still remember arriving in Amarillo, TX at the beginning of March to snow flurries like it was yesterday!
I’ve been so lucky throughout this tour to not only do some really fun things along the way, but I’ve also gained my cheese family and met some great people! Like Till-Lyssa has mentioned before, this job really makes you feel like a cheesy rockstar and nothing makes us feel better than when super fans come visit you at a store because they knew you were going to be there! At one of my store days recently I was visited by two Tillamook-loving fans, mother and daughter duo Sheri and Stephanie! They were so excited to see the tour up close and personal – Sheri has been following Tillamook on Facebook and our blog for some time now! Her and her daughter loaded up on smile sticks, buttons, and of course Tillamook Cheese!
Although my five state, six month adventure is almost over, it’s bitter sweet. I’m looking forward to being back at home in Portland, but I am going to miss life on the road with my cheese family too. From the thrill rides in Dallas to exploring caverns in San Antonio to floating the river in Boise and everything in between, getting to know my crew throughout these months has been an amazing experience I will never forget, and has given me lifelong friends!
It’s been a great run and I’m so happy to have met and experienced everything! We have about a week left in Seattle so check the schedule and come say hi!

Rain or Shine, It’s Always a Great Day for Cheese!
With lots of coffee in our bellies, the smell of cows in the air, and excitement all around, the Loaf Love Tour pulled into Tillamook bright and early for a fun-filled day! On the agenda for the day were two store events, a booth at the farmer’s market, and most importantly the opportunity to drive one of our Yums in the June Dairy Parade!
The theme of this year’s parade was “Just Milk It.” The Tillamook float took the theme to the extreme and had a literal representation of milk coming from Tilly into the Tillamook Cheese Factory and all of the delicious products then coming out of the factory! The float was so creative that it actually won the first place award!
Jammin’ Jason and I got the honor of leading the float in the Yum with giant smiles on our faces and lots of waving to the fans who came out! Although it started raining, that certainly didn’t scare away the parade-goers or our dedicated volunteers who followed behind us handing out buttons and Tilla-Moos to the crowd!
We had so much fun in the parade this year; it was great seeing everyone who came out to enjoy the festivities! We’re looking forward to the Hillsboro 4th of July Parade to celebrate our Independence and thank all of those who serve our country. We can’t wait to show off our Baby Loaf to all of our fans there as well!

A Big Texas Hurrah!
As our time in Texas comes to an end, the San Antonio Zoo was our last big hurrah! We had another fun-filled day surrounded by animals, families, and lots of cheese! When we arrived in the morning to set-up for the day there were already fans waiting for us decked out in their best Tillamook orange!
But our Tillamook fans arrived in all colors; the Simcoe family came dressed in red! The Simcoes are originally from the NW but recently moved to San Antonio to be closer to relatives. Brian and his mother Debbie braved the heat and crowds to bring the kids to the zoo and were so happy to find us there! The three young boys excitedly shared with me how they have all been to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and how much they love the ice cream! That’s not the only thing they love though, they also loaf our cheese – the boys couldn’t get enough of it!
With this being our last zoo event in Texas, it was also the last time all of us would work together. The Northwest tour will begin in a few short weeks which means we will be saying farewell to some of our cheesy family. The zoo, however, couldn’t have been a better place for our last big team event! The sun was shining as we gave out nearly 1,000 smile sticks and over 3,500 samples of our tasty cheese to the amazing folks of San Antonio!
Don’t worry if you missed us at the zoo though … we’re in San Antonio through June 2nd and would love make sure we leave here having given you a smile and some of the World’s Best Medium Cheddar cheese – YUM! You can find our schedule here.
See you on the road,
April
