Hi Sarah, thanks for taking the time to share your story here on the blog. We're proud that after more than 100 years, we still make and package cheese locally at The Cheese Factory in Tillamook, Oregon. Thanks for your continued support of TCCA!

I grew up in Oregon and I still remember when my 5th grade class took a field trip to the Tillamook Dairy. I've always like the cheese and other products. It's comforting to know that they are made close to home. Last summer I spent some time at my mother's house while she was recovering from an injury. I was surrprised to see that she had a lot of dairy products in her refrigerator from Umpqua Dairy. I tried to tell her that they aren;t really local. There is no real Umpqua dairy. Their products are shipped out from some central location in the midwest. She is convinced that their are local because of their name. I hate to see them succeed by using this kind of deception.
Keep making those great products!
Sincerely
Sarah
