Mushrooms Love Oregon Pizza

I love Oregon, the home to scrumptious Tillamook Cheese! I also love pizza! To express my love for both the state and the food I created the Mushrooms Love Oregon Pizza. It turns out, when you combine delicious Oregon ingredients on one pizza, a masterpiece is created.

Ingredients
Pizza dough
Marinera sauce
Tillamook Shredded Mozzarella
Oregon mushrooms
Sliced olives
Broccoli

For this ode to Oregon pizza, I placed the marinera sauce on top of the pizza dough, then covered it in Oregon’s own Tillamook Shredded Mozzarella I went to the grocery store and collected three different types of Oregon mushrooms. I used Morel, Porcini, and Chanterelle, but you can use any Oregon mushrooms available to you. I then added black olives and yes, I know! They aren’t from Oregon but they go so well with mushrooms on pizza and I couldn’t help myself! I topped things off with some home grown broccoli right out of the Oregon soil and baked it in the oven at 350 degrees until the cheese was melty and gooey and the crust was light brown.

I tipped my hat to the great state of Oregon and enjoyed my pizza. What would you put on an Oregon inspired pizza?

Anything with tilly mild cheddar. I moved away 40+ years ago and have just come back to Tillamook county. I was not able to get tilly cheese in Maine most times, but I allway’s have a baby loaf in the fridge now that I am back.
I moved back to Hebo Oregon to help get the Hebo Inn opened back up, and we will serve nothing else but Tillamook Dairy Products because there is nothing better….

For my pizza I’ll use gluten free dough, my own homemade pizza sauce, Tillamook mozzarella, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, tomatoes, porcini mushrooms, sweet basil from our garden, and on the side sliced olives because I don’t like olives but my husband does.

Ok, I am going to make this, it looks awesome….now for dessert….one ripe bartlett pear…grown in Oregon of course. Peel, cut in half and take out the core. Place cut side up on a dessert plate (both halves) top with about 1/4 cup of grated sharp or extra sharp Tillamook cheddar cheese and 1 TBLSP of Tillamook vanilla yogurt. Drizzle with honey (about 1 tsp. I use local) and about 2 TBLSP of chopped or ground Oregon hazelnuts……You can use canned pear halves if fresh aren’t available!
