Tillamook Cheese Factory: Our Favorite Things

Cheese Factory

As we ease into summer on the Oregon coast, the days are getting longer and the weather’s drying out, so there’s no better time to plan a trip to the Tillamook Cheese Factory! Here are some of our favorite things to do at the Cheese Factory before the crazy summer crowds descend on us:

  • Take a picture in the Loaf Love Tour bus and send to all your friends and family.
  • Try a sample of creamy, luscious Tillamook Chocolate Ice Cream on Thursday, June 7 to celebrate National Chocolate Ice Cream Day! Learn more.
  • Taste the six daily varieties of cheese at the sample counter, and don’t forget the Squeaky Cheese - fresh cheddar cheese curds.
  • Wave to the friendly workers sporting their Loaf Love on their uniforms in our packaging department. You can take one of those shirts home with you, too!
  • Put together a picnic basket of cheese, fudge, and other delicious Pacific Northwest goodies like smoked salmon, beef jerky, hazelnuts, crackers, and Marionberry jam. You’ll find everything you need in our gourmet shop.
  • Go fly a Loaf Love Tour kite!
  • Warm up from a breezy beach walk with an ooey, gooey Tillamook grilled cheese sandwich at the Creamery Café, accompanied by our homemade tomato soup.
  • Cool down with your favorite flavor of sweet, rich, dreamy Tillamook Ice Cream at the ice cream counter. Can’t choose just one flavor? Have a 3 scoop or 5 scoop sampler!
  • Send a CheeseMail video postcard to make all those friends who didn’t come to the cheese factory wish they were there with you!
  • Celebrate National Fudge Day with us on June 16 when we’ll introduce our newest fudge flavor, Milk Chocolate Caramel with Sea Salt. After all, we are on the Pacific coast. Learn more.

Well, we could go on and on but we’d rather have you come say hello and tell us: What’s your favorite thing to do at the Tillamook Cheese Factory? We’ll be waiting for you!

It’s Spring Break at the Tillamook Cheese Factory!

Check out our yummy fudge specials!

What better way to celebrate a week off school than a Spring Break visit to the cheese factory!  We have lots of tasty new treats for you to try – Tillamook specialties you can’t get anywhere else.  How scrumptious does this sound:

Two new sandwiches at the Creamery Café

  • Grilled Turkey & Swiss Pesto:  Lots of Tillamook Swiss Cheese and fresh turkey breast, spread with pesto and topped with roasted red peppers, then grilled to perfection on sourdough bread.
  • Chicken Club Wrap:  Our Medium Cheddar generously sprinkled on grilled chicken breast with bacon, cucumber, tomato and romaine, then topped with pesto mayo all wrapped up in el grande flour tortilla.

Two new Tillamook Fudge flavors:

  • Candy Bar Bliss:  Layers of chocolate and vanilla fudge, with a generous swirl of caramel and pecan throughout, topped with lots more pecans.
  • Drew-licious:  Created for Loafy’s good friend Drew Carney of KGW News in Portland.  Layers of dark chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge and rich caramel, with plenty of dark chocolate chips thrown in.  Let the decadent eating begin!

And to make it even more enticing to have some fudge, donate $2 or 2 non-perishable food items to the KGW Great Food Drive at the fudge counter this week, and when you buy a pound of our fudge you will get ½ pound FREE!  Feeding your fudge sweet tooth and helping out a great cause all at the same time.

But we all know Spring Break is not complete without that creamy and delicious waffle cone filled with Tillamook Ice Cream.  Try our tempting new flavor, Vanilla Chocolate Chip.  Or opt for the new and improved Chocolaty Chip Cookie Dough, one of our best sellers.  You will begin to believe summer is right around the corner!

We’re looking forward to seeing you in Tillamook!

Stop by for a visit!

Welcome to the Creamery Cafe!

Here we are, just a week away from the unofficial start to summer at the Cheese Factory! What better way to start off a new season than with a new name for our popular café. From now on when you dine with us, you’ll be enjoying your cheesy meal at the Creamery Café! All your favorite menu items are still here, as well as our delicious daily specials.

In honor of our new name, and to help celebrate National Cheeseburger Month, we have some awesome burger specials to offer at the Creamery Café starting this Sunday. Here’s the mouth-watering line up:

Sunday, 5/22: Tillapeno Cheeseburger with Hot Habanero Jack. If you like it hot and spicy, this is the burger for you!
Monday, 5/23: Pizza Cheeseburger with Mozzarella and Marinara. When in Rome. . . .
Tuesday, 5/24: Garlic Cheddar Cheeseburger with roasted garlic spread. This one should keep the vampires away.
Wednesday, 5/25: Smoked Black Pepper Cheddar Burger Hoagie. Steak au poive’s baby brother.
Thursday, 5/26: Squeaky Cheeseburger. How do you make a burger squeak? Add some Cheddar Cheese Curds, of course!
Friday, 5/27: Muenster Patty Melt with grilled onions on rye. Creamy, mild Tillamook Muenster tames the tang of grilled onions – no tears here!
Saturday, 5/28: Swiss Mushroom Cheeseburger. Nutty cheese and earthy mushrooms for a hearty weekend lunch.

Join us this week at the Cheese Factory to sample our celebration burgers! Let us know which one is your favorite and it could become a regular feature at the Creamery Café. We look forward to seeing you here!
