Creamy, sweet, indulgent treats – of course we’re talking about Tillamook Fudge! This Saturday, June 16, fudge takes center stage at the Cheese Factory because we’re celebrating National Fudge Day! And what better way to do so than by introducing the newest flavor to our fudge line up. Drum roll please for. . .

Salted Caramel - a decadent combination of milk chocolate swirled with rich, gooey caramel and sprinkled with sea salt. A little bit of sweet and salty that’s just right.

But for National Fudge Day, we need more than just a new flavor. So we’re also offering a special deal for all our Tillamook Fudge fans.  When you buy a pound of any flavor of Tillamook Fudge we’ll give you ¼ pound free! Mix and match any combination of our 30 plus flavors, and then choose yet another flavor for your free ¼ pound. And that’s not all – if you visit between 11am and 6pm, your purchase gives you a chance to Spin the Wheel to win more treats!  You could win a fudge pretzel cup, or a fudge hazelnut cup – even a full pound of our new feature flavor.

It’s Spring Break at the Tillamook Cheese Factory!

What better way to celebrate a week off school than a Spring Break visit to the cheese factory!  We have lots of tasty new treats for you to try – Tillamook specialties you can’t get anywhere else.  How scrumptious does this sound:

Two new sandwiches at the Creamery Café

  • Grilled Turkey & Swiss Pesto:  Lots of Tillamook Swiss Cheese and fresh turkey breast, spread with pesto and topped with roasted red peppers, then grilled to perfection on sourdough bread.
  • Chicken Club Wrap:  Our Medium Cheddar generously sprinkled on grilled chicken breast with bacon, cucumber, tomato and romaine, then topped with pesto mayo all wrapped up in el grande flour tortilla.

Two new Tillamook Fudge flavors:

  • Candy Bar Bliss:  Layers of chocolate and vanilla fudge, with a generous swirl of caramel and pecan throughout, topped with lots more pecans.
  • Drew-licious:  Created for Loafy’s good friend Drew Carney of KGW News in Portland.  Layers of dark chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge and rich caramel, with plenty of dark chocolate chips thrown in.  Let the decadent eating begin!

And to make it even more enticing to have some fudge, donate $2 or 2 non-perishable food items to the KGW Great Food Drive at the fudge counter this week, and when you buy a pound of our fudge you will get ½ pound FREE!  Feeding your fudge sweet tooth and helping out a great cause all at the same time.

But we all know Spring Break is not complete without that creamy and delicious waffle cone filled with Tillamook Ice Cream.  Try our tempting new flavor, Vanilla Chocolate Chip.  Or opt for the new and improved Chocolaty Chip Cookie Dough, one of our best sellers.  You will begin to believe summer is right around the corner!

This Thursday, June 16th, fudge takes center stage at the Tillamook Cheese Factory because we’re celebrating National Fudge Day! And what better way to do that than by introducing the newest flavor to our fudge line up.  Drum roll please …

Chocolate Triple Play! A decadent combination of chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate fudge, swirled with rich caramel and topped off with Heath Bar toffee bits. It’s a slice of heaven in a fudge pan!

For National Fudge Day, we’re offering a special deal for all our Tillamook fans as well. When you buy a pound of any flavor of Tillamook Fudge we’ll give you a quarter pound free! Featured Personality: Georgia at the Fudge Counter

Georgia Wilson-Zuercher wears two hats—er, aprons—at the Tillamook Cheese Factory, spending half her work days as a prep cook in the Farmhouse Café and the other half behind the fudge counter, making delicious Tillamook fudge.

Seven days a week during peak visitor season, Tillamook fudge is made— with real Tillamook Butter— in two large pots. It’s then sold in containers or by the pound in fudge loaves, on tempting displays behind the glass counter.

The fudge team has created over 40 flavors – variations on vanilla, chocolate, and milk chocolate fudge. The most popular flavor is Peanut Butter Chocolate, except among little girls, who seem drawn to the pink-and-white Raspberry Cheesecake. The newest flavor is Candy Bliss, a vanilla-pecan-caramel-chocolate confection.

Georgia says Tillamook is one of the best companies a person could work for. When her husband passed away several years ago, “they were so good to me—they went above and beyond,” she says. And when she remarried, to childhood friend Stan, “everyone was very happy for me.” Georgia and Stan have three adult daughters and three grandchildren, happily living close by in the Pacific Northwest.

The highlight of making fudge, Georgia says, is seeing the results as each batch is finished. And over her 10 years at the Tillamook Cheese Factory, she’s enjoyed watching some of her coworkers grow up from teenagers to adults with their own kids. “It’s been fun to watch,” she says. “They’re really good people.”

“As far as I’m concerned, you couldn’t have a better job than this one,” she says.
