Loaf Love Tour Ends in San Diego with the #LLT4me Party

The Loaf Love Tour wrapped up in San Diego this week with one last celebration of cheesy fun. La Jolla Preschool Academy won the #LLT4me Twitter contest, which ended last Thursday night! We had so much fun painting pumpkins, coloring, playing cornhole, dancing, and of course eating Tillamook Cheese and Ice Cream with the kids! What a great way to end another amazing year of the Loaf Love Tour!

Here are some photos of the fun:

The Loaf Love Tour crew was just as excited as these Tillakids for ice cream!!!

I loafed hanging out with the kids at La Jolla Preschool Academy

There were some very talented pumpkin painters in the group, move over Picasso!

Thanks for showing us a fun time, La Jolla Preschoolers!

It’s a Small World After All

Our friends from Denver

This is my second year traveling with these awesome Baby Loaf Buses and while they often steal the show … our friendly Brand Ambassadors are some of the most memorable people you’ll ever meet!

One of my favorite stories from the 2011 Loaf Love Tour happened on our day off while in Northern California. We were checking out of hotel in Oakland, CA and all of our staff was dressed in their regular clothes (no awesomely orange Loaf Love t-shirts in sight) when @JamminJason was stopped by another hotel guest. She and her family had met Jason more than a month before at a grocery store over 350 miles away! She recognized him immediately, called her family over to say “hello” and wanted a full update on our travels. Jason remembered her as well and reminisced about the store where they had all met; this is no small feat considering the thousands of people Jason interacts with – often in a grocery store setting! What a small world!

Then just this last week I was at a Kroger store on one of our last  days in Houston and a nice family wandered over to our Baby Loaf Bus. I stopped to chat with them and the first thing said was, “we saw you guys last year in Denver!” Wow! It’s a whole year later, we’re in a different state and they remembered us?!

We’ve just arrived in San Antonio and the only thing I am thinking about is, “which of my old Loaf Love friends will I get to see again soon?” Stop by and see us! The cheese is just as yummy, the smiles just as big, and we’d love to hear what you’ve been up to.

See you around San Antonio!

Extra Cheesy Peach Days

The Loaf Love Tour at Peach Days in Brigham City, Utah

The highlight of Brigham City’s Peach Days… Was it the rides? The food booths? The vendor tables? We think it was Tillamook Cheese! Whether it was at the parades or at the booth, there was a certain kind of energy and excitement that surrounded us. The Yums, as always, were a huge draw, and the Loafster in particular created a lot of buzz that echoed throughout all of Peach Days. Stories of cross country drives, struggles when climbing hills, and even stories of an occasional car fire were told by fellow VW owners. The Tillamook bean bag toss was fun for all ages, the buttons and the coupons were a huge hit; and the cheese, ahhhh, the cheese! Not only did each and every person that sampled our cheese leave with a smile, but the taste of the world’s best medium cheddar inspired hundreds to tell us their stories of how much fun they had when they visited our Cheese Factory. Some visit our factory on an annual basis and some haven’t been there for 30 years. But regardless of the time since their last visit, everyone recalls the experience with a smile.

Peach Days was a fun filled two days that came to an end far too soon. Being able to share in the enjoyment with Tillamook fans at events like this is the best thing about being a Brand Ambassador; and boy did Peach Days deliver! Thank you Peach Days, and thank you Utah, for welcoming us with open arms. I truly can’t wait for a return trip next year!

Next stop for the Loaf Love Tour: Denver! Let’s see if you can fill the shoes left by your predecessors in Utah. Hope you’re up for the challenge!

Just Say Yum!

Soaking up the sun in SoCal.

We call our awesome little VW Baby Loaf buses ”Yums” and our fleet now has 5 Yums, including the Loafster convertible. I personally have the Tillamook Baby Loaf Yums to thank for making me feel like a star while in the Los Angeles area. For a metropolis that has undeniably seen every form of fashion, cars, homes, and celebrities, I continue to be shocked by people’s surprised reaction to little `ol me driving down the street in a Tillamook Baby Loaf on wheels.

As a Tillamook Cheese Loaf Love Tour Brand Ambassador, your daily commute to work is unlike any other. For starters, I drive a custom VW that is almost twice my age, the exterior of the vehicle resembles a baby loaf of cheese, and it proudly has Tillamook written all over it. Trust me, there is no driving unnoticed. Often I feel like I’m in a parade with all the waves, smiles, and thumbs-ups I give to total strangers along the road (just wish I had a crown to wear!).

Driving the Loafster convertible!

There are certain occurrences one must be prepared to encounter when driving one of the five Tillamook Yums. Such as: People honking excitedly at you, people screaming and shouting, photos and video being taken of you, being followed or waved down, having 30 second conversations with the car next to you at a red light, or watching people slug their friend in the arm to get them to check us out!

Nothing beats the feeling of when the Loaf Love Tour teamdrives the Yums down Hollywood Blvd, Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, or Rodeo Drive. The people along the streets look at us with such sincere smiles that we naturally give them a cheesy smile right back! The Tillamook Baby Loaf Yums help the Loaf Love Tour bring our tasty cheese to the people everyday and I feel honored to drive them!

See you on the road!

We’re Happy to Introduce…

… our new Loafster convertible!

One day we started to wonder if our cheese would taste even better with the sun on our shoulders and the wind in our hair. We’ve determined that it tastes just as great no matter what the weather, but now we have a cute new bus to cruise around in. As far as we know, it’s the first and only VW shorty bus convertible ever made!

Isn’t she cute? Makes me want to throw on some Beach Boys, grab a surfboard, and head to the beach.

Thanks to our Facebook fans for helping us name the newest addition to our Loaf Love Tour troupe!
