Luke and Dale take on California!

A new Tillamook advertising campaign will begin airing in Los Angeles and San Francisco today. The campaign, called “California meets Tillamook” depicts a road-trip taken by two familiar characters from Oregon, Luke and Dale, as they travel throughout California in a Tillamook Baby Loaf Bus introducing the cheese that hails from their home state of Oregon. Check out the commercials below to meet Luke and Dale as they share their love of the loaf with California!

Dear Moguls
Luke and Dale always want to lend a helping hand. Here they give some friendly, sage advice on how Hollywood can make better movies.

Oregon and California have many, many things in common. One is that both love great cheese.

New Tillamook Sliced Cheese Options!

I have to admit that I am a fan of Tillamook Medium Cheddar and it is my “go to” cheese for most recipes, but I am challenging myself to breakout and try some new flavors in my favorite recipes!

For example, over the holidays we had several family members visit and found ourselves with a hungry crowd and not a lot of time to plan for food. We took out all the varieties of Tillamook Cheese in the fridge, including the new 12 oz. Sliced Provolone and Sliced Vintage White Medium. Each of us selected the cheese combinations and bread type (sourdough or wheat) of our choice and tried to come up with the most flavorful grilled cheese sandwich. We cut each sandwich into 4 sections and had fun sampling everyone’s creativity!

One of the crowd favorites was the Provolone, Vintage White Medium and Special Reserve Extra Sharp Cheddar!  The pre-sliced Provolone and Vintage White Medium are easy to use and control how much of the flavor you want in your sandwich. The combination of the softly tangy Provolone, the buttery, nutty cheddar notes of the 100 day old Vintage White Medium and the full flavor of the extra sharp created a delicious gooey, gourmet, cheesy treat!

Get creative, break out of your habit and try out new flavor combinations in your grilled cheese sandwiches…you may be surprised!!

Chocolatey Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Cookies and ice cream together in one cold, creamy, dreamy delicious place. Seriously, the genius behind that concept deserves some kind of award.

Tillamook Cookie Dough Ice Cream is undergoing a little makeover. It will still have the same, creamy cookie-dough flavored ice cream base with cookie dough chunks, but we’ll be adding in tasty little chocolate flakes!

Last week, we asked our Facebook fans to help us pick a new name for our improved recipe. Of these three names – Cookie Dough (same name, but improved taste), Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Chocolatey Chip Cookie Dough – fans overwhelming voted for Chocolatey Chip Cookie Dough.

Look for Chocolatey Chip Cookie Dough in stores beginning in January 2012 (it’ll be worth the wait – we promise!). In the meantime, you can still enjoy our classic Tillamook Cookie Dough Ice Cream.
