Holiday a La Mode

With the holidays rapidly approaching, it’s time to start planning menus and perfecting pie recipes. No pie, or dessert for that matter, is complete without a scoop of Tillamook Ice Cream! Did you know that Tillamook has three, yes three, different flavors of vanilla to choose from!?

I’d like to take a moment to introduce you to the delicious and dramatically different vanilla variations:

Old-Fashioned Vanilla
This is the classic stuff. Vanilla, straight and simple.

French Vanilla
Tillamook French Vanilla is rich, creamy, and custard-like.

Vanilla Bean
Traditional vanilla kicked up a flavor notch with loads of real crushed vanilla beans. If you’re a fan of this flavor, you might also like Tillamook Vanilla Bean Yogurt and Tillamook Light Vanilla Bean Yogurt.

If you haven’t tried them all, there’s no time like the holidays to get scooping!!! What’s your favorite flavor of vanilla ice cream?

Bacon Vanilla Tillamook Ice Cream Farewell

It’s National Ice Cream month and I’m so excited to be heading to Utah where I can find delicious Tillamook Ice Cream again!

The last time I had some was part of my farewell to friends and family in Portland. Good-byes are always sad, but when it ends with a delicious dessert made with Tillamook Ice Cream, there’s enough sweetness to make it all okay. This was exactly the case when I was preparing to leave and head out on my cheese adventures with the Loaf Love Tour.

My friends had planned an elaborate four-course meal that consisted of two of my favorite things: bacon and Tillamook products! You can’t even imagine the delicious dishes that they conjured!  I would list off the menu, but I feel that it would be unfair to you all because it would make you very, very hungry!

I will share one thing off the menu - the dessert. It was Tillamook Old Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream topped with crispy bacon and a root beer reduction.  Just as it sounds, it was a little bit of everything; sweet, salty, and creamy. With the evening coming to an end it was what my friends and I needed to remember the night. But I can’t help but think that if “good-bye” is this sweet, imagine how “hello” will be when I head back home!

Good-bye or hello, I think Tillamook Ice Cream is an amazing choice! What’s your favorite way to serve Tillamook Ice Cream?

Shake It!

Tillamook Vanilla Ice Cream Milkshake

A vanilla milkshake made with Tillamook Ice Cream at Lindsey's Lattes in Tillamook, OR.

Hooray, it’s National Vanilla Milkshake Day! Finally, an excuse to drink vanilla milkshakes all day long! (Not that we ever needed an excuse before…) Want to know how to make the best vanilla milkshake around? Here’s a secret: Use one of Tillamook’s three delicious and unique vanilla ice cream flavors. To help you make this crucial decision, here’s the down low on the Three Musketeers of the vanilla ice cream world:

1. Tillamook Old-Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream – A flavor straight out of your childhood! Rich, creamy, smooth, and silky. Classically delicious. Milkshake tip: If you want to be experimental, I hear Root Beer Float Shakes are the next big thing.

2. Tillamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream – All the tasty benefits of vanilla ice cream, plus tons of crushed vanilla beans! Extra vanilla means extra flavor and extra fun. Milkshake tip: Swirl in some chocolate, caramel, and/or strawberry sauce to make a Sundae Shake!

3. Tillamook French Vanilla Ice Cream – Ah, oui oui! This creamy and decadent flavor is more of a custard style, which means it’s super rich and fancy. Think: “Paris in an ice cream carton.” Milkshake Tip: Try throwing in some cinnamon for a little extra kick.

Now that you have been versed in the ways of Tillamook Vanilla Ice Cream, young grasshopper, go now and put forth some milk and vanilla ice cream in your blender and celebrate National Vanilla Milkshake Day. You have all the knowledge to choose one of Tillamook’s flavors to make the best vanilla milkshake yet! (Or you could use all three to really “shake” things up!)

Tillamook Ice Cream: “Better Than Everything”

If you could eat Tillamook Ice Cream every day, what flavor would you choose? I could never decide! Somedays I want Sticky Bun (it’s my go-to flavor), and somedays I just want some classic Old-Fashioned Vanilla. I’d be happy with any flavor!
