Good Aftermoon! As you may have herd, today is National Cow Appreciation Day. I am so udderly grateful for my bovine buddies. Without their delicious milk, this Baby Loaf wouldn’t exist! Don’t forget to thank a cow today, and if you don’t see any cows to thank, send them your loudest “mooooooo!” from afar.

Love,

Loafy

Facebook:

From Ali L.: I drove through Tillamook last week (stopping by the Cheese Factory, of course), and saw what looked like the happiest cow I have ever seen in my life in one of the fields by the Factory. It was walking with a little bit of a bounce in its step and was swinging its head this way and that way, as if it were humming a tune while it walked. That cow obviously knew it was producing yummy things for everyone!

From Pete O.: Woo hoo… it is National Cow Appreciation Day! I would like to thank all the cows out there that I have enjoyed eating and getting milk products from. Especially the Tillamook cows from Tillamook, Oregon. They make the best cheese in the world. I believe it is a good day for a cheeseburger and a milkshake.

From Lynn E.M.: Had a wonderful visit. Learned a lot about making cheese. Had some wonderful ice cream. Now I am craving Tillamook Oregon Strawberry Ice Cream.

Twitter:

From @mruncommonsense: @TillamookCheese @alwaysnwonder …our baby girl just tried to choke me out ’cause I wasn’t feeding her Mountain Huckleberry fast enough.

From @_l1l1: @TillamookCheese is the best cheese company. Their food products are amazing. I recommend going and trying some.

From @iamacityskyline: @TillamookCheese went to your factory a few days ago. Gotta say I loved your ice cream! Very cool visit on our family vacay. :)

From @sevenslip: Thank you @TillamookCheese for helping me hide the veggies in my daughters grilled cheese sandwich yet again.

From @StenoVal: just noticed that Safeway now carries @TillamookCheese yogurt. The French Vanilla Bean is so divine. Oregon Strawberry too!

From @Randulll: @TillamookCheese I’m naming my first child “Vintage White” after your 2 year aged supercheese

From @TheHollyJones: Wine & cheese party Friday with the girls and ooog! Look what I found to go with the Pinot Noir – from @TillamookCheese http://t.co/OMWqpCS

With summer weather finally here, ice cream is on everyone’s brains. What’s summer without a big bowl of Tillamook Oregon Strawberry Ice Cream? Or a waffle cone with Tillamook Marionberry Pie Ice Cream… or a scoop of Tillamook Old-Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream on top of warm, homemade pie?!

Now I’m desperately craving ice cream! Don’t forget to stop by the store this weekend to pick up some Tillamook Ice Cream for our Ice Cream Photo Contest (winner gets 12 free cartons of Tillamook Ice Cream!).

Facebook:

From Sandy B.L.: I used to use American cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches…now it’s only Tillamook Pepper Jack Cheese! So good! (And it’s also great in homemade mac n cheese, mixed with Medium Tillamook Cheddar!)

From Dawn E.: Hey! I stopped by the Tillamook Cheese Factory last weekend and tried the Sticky Bun Ice Cream (per your suggestion). It was AWESOME!!!

From Marian H.: My husband and I are expecting our first child later this year, and I’ve had some massive morning sickness along the way – providentially, the ONLY food that would consistently settle on my tummy was Tillamook Cheddar Cheese! =) The doctor approved (citing “real” cheese as a great source of calcium/protein), and so we ate DOZENS of pounds of cheese (purchased from Costco/our military commissary)! =) Just had to share… sure appreciate you!

From Melanie S.T.: Love the cheese, but your yogurt is out of this world…I have to drive over a half hour to get it at a WinCo, the only place that carries it here.

From Heidi S.: I love Tillamook everything, every morning my husband and I have Tillamook Yogurt for breakfast. It tastes the best and is priced right. The ice cream is delicious - our favorite is Udderly Chocolate. We are just Tillamook fans. We even took some of our vacation time to visit the factory.

Twitter:

From @gregvalentine: I’m not sure people can appreciate what life was like living all those places all those years without Tillamook Cheese. “Living?” Hardly.

From @BelindaOlsen:  I LOVE the Tillamook creamery! Best ice cream. Ever! If I went on vacation to OR I don’t think I’d come home.

From @xtop: @TillamookCheese You are now my favorite anthropomorphic food of all time.

From @brandoniain: Mashed fresh raspberries over buckwheat pancakes with a turkey sausage, bell pepper and @TillamookCheese scramble. Frickin yum!

From @BeachBumChris: Turns out that @TillamookCheese goes nicely after wings and beer. God I love cheese.

This adorable, Tillamook-loving pup entered our "Tricks for Cheese" contest last fall.

Well, the sun finally decided it was tired of hiding behind the clouds here in Oregon – what a beautiful week we’ve had! Thanks for adding even more sunshine to my life with all of your Loaf-love filled comments and conversations this week. Now go out and enjoy the sun (if it’s still around!).

Love,
Loafy

Facebook (pet-themed comments!):

From Sam G.: The first time I brought Oregon Strawberry Ice Cream out to Iowa, I was eating a bowl when my cat Bandit came into the room with this wide-eyed look and her nose very active. She looked around, determined where it was coming from, and headed straight for the bowl. It was the one time she ever reacted to food that way.

From Kevin K.: My boxer, Kobe Beef – he appears like a genie when you open the door and take out the Tillamook Sharp Cheddar for grating onto a sandwich. I think his favorite thing in life is spilled grated cheese.

From Tim T.: I had and Abyssinian Cat (since passed on to kitty heaven) used to do chin-ups on the bread board for Tillamook Cheese. We called them “chin-ups for cheese.”

From Tina B.: My cat Smoky has what we have dubbed “cheese-dar” and can tell when we are getting out a block, slices or sticks of cheese. If he’s asleep on the other end of the house he’ll wake up and come running, begging for a piece, a morsel, or (jackpot!!) an actual bite! He has taught our 1 year old kitty to do the same.

From Janet H.: My cat, Sonja, goes nuts for Tillamook Cheese. If I’m snacking on some, I have to cut an extra half-slice for her. She knows either the smell or the wrapper sound, and won’t give me any peace if I take the cheese out of the fridge and she doesn’t get hers.

Twitter:

From @louisgray:  Our beagle once ate half a block of Tillamook Cheddar Cheese and buried the rest in the couch.

From @astute_rhett: Enjoyed the greatest ice cream ever this week while on the West Coast, Tillamook Creamery’s Grandma’s Cake Batter. It is an experience!

From @Adryz87: My coworker just bribed me with Tillamook Cheese! #ImTooEasy

From @mmosner: So happy to be indulging in PNW cheeses again. Last night I literally cradled a loaf of Garlic White Cheddar@TillamookCheese. #cheeseplease

From @PnPArtistMary: @TillamookCheese – Thanks for the follow! I’ve never been chased by cheese before; I’m usually the one pursuing the cheese on EVERYTHING!
