Tillamook Ice Cream: “Better Than Everything”

If you could eat Tillamook Ice Cream every day, what flavor would you choose? I could never decide! Somedays I want Sticky Bun (it’s my go-to flavor), and somedays I just want some classic Old-Fashioned Vanilla. I’d be happy with any flavor!

I only had the incomparable pleasure of enjoying Tillamook ice cream while I lived in Redding, California for a short time…. and since then my deprived taste buds have suffered when forced to endure lesser brands. :(
Living in Houston, Tx…. we have some decent brands of ice cream, but nothing even close to the rich decadence that is Tillamook Ice Cream.
If I were forced to choose only one that I could have every day {tantamount to winning the lottery}… it would have to be Mountain Huckleberry. Experiencing it for the first time, I almost felt that I’d never tasted real ice cream before……. and I am forever spoiled for all lesser brands which, in my opinion, shouldn’t even be allowed to call their product by the same name.
    Sincerely yours…..Susan C {sorrowful in Texas}

Hi Suzi! Thank you so much for your comment! We absolutely love hearing back from fans like you about your experiences with our products. We’re so happy you love our ice cream… I just hope you can get a scoop of it soon! Maybe you could visit us at our Cheese Factory in Tillamook, Oregon someday. We serve all 38 flavors of our creamy, delicious ice cream there!

P.S. I have to agree – Mountain Huckleberry is one of the best!

I worked for one Summer in Gold Beach, OR. One weekend I decided to explore further north and came upon the Cheese Factory in Tillamook. I had always been a big fan of Tillamook cheeses but when I tasted the ice cream…I don’t have words to describe it! I was traveling with a friend and at first we got one ice cream cone to share but in the end we got two other ice cream cones, one for each of us.
Here, in New Mexico, stores carry Tillamook cheeses, which I greatly appreciate but my taste buds long for another taste of Tillamook ice cream.
If I hear of anyone going to OR, I always tell them to stop and get some Tillamook ice cream straight from the Factory. I did that exact thing today :) I hope to go back some day and get myself what I consider to be THE BEST ice cream ever!

Grandma’s Cake batter…. everyday of the week. happily. That stuff is dangerous! PLEASE bring it back!!!!!!!

  6. avatar
    Tara Says:

Hi Torie! Good news… it IS back! Grandma’s Cake Batter is no longer “limited edition.” Not every store carries it, and you may not see it in the same stores as you did in the past. Have you tried Winco, Fred Meyer, or Thriftway? Also, a great way to see it on the shelves of your local store is to demand (er, request) that the store carry it! Hope you find it soon! Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks!

If there is anything better than the Espresso Mocha I want to know about it. I have been eating ice cream? for over 70 years and after eating Tillamook I find it wasn’t ice cream. I am soooo addicted to your EM that I have to have at least one bowl a day..lol. I am so sorry for the people out of the area who cannot get it because they are truly missing out on the absolutely best and real ice cream ever made. Thank you Tillamook for a very awesome pleasure…keep it up.

Hi, Rochelle! I’m so glad to hear that you’re a Fan of Tillamook White Licorice Ice Cream. Although I have some sad news — it’s a flavor that we’ve recently discontinued. The main flavoring ingredient isn’t available anymore and we haven’t found a suitable replacement. I’m so sorry and hope you’re able to find another flavor you enjoy just as much!

    Ryan Says:

White Licorice is far and away the best flavor of any ice cream! I have purchased the 3gal bucket numerous times in the past and have made it a point to get it every time I am on the coast (once a month or so). I was actually just discussing last night with my wife driving out there from Beaverton for the sole purpose of getting White Licorice. Consider me deeply saddened to hear it was discontinued (from my brother today who was just there today to buy a 3gal bucket). The last bucket I got a few months ago I actually created several more fans who tried it for the first time and were hooked. So now that is all for naught if we don’t get it back. Please find a replacement and restore this flavor!!! Even better would be to make it a featured flavor so that it is in the stores :-)

Chocolate peanut butter is a family favorite for this Seattle family. We went to the store looking for it tonight but couldn’t find it. We went to two different stores. Both stores said it’s a really popular flavor, but you have this new flavor with peanut butter and it’s really good, but we really love the chocolate peanut butter. I hope you haven’t discontinued it.

  19. avatar
    Jala Says:

Hi, Holly! You must be talking about Udderly Peanutbutterly. Yes, it’s deeelish! And we do still make Chocolate Peanut Butter as well, so you have two fabulous peanut butter ice cream flavors to choose from! Products do vary by location, and each store chooses what varieties they carry. Here’s a list of stores in Washington that carry Tillamook Ice Cream. I hope you’re able to get your peanut butter fix very soon!

Tillamook ice cream is by far the best ice cream on the market. Tillamook ice cream is just that Cream, unlike other ice creams. Most competitors of Tillamook ice cream is ice milk not ice cream. From an economic stand point Tillamook gives the consumer more of their product than their competitors do. I hope that Tillamook does not change their quility and quanity of their ice cream as has their competitors.
Thank you Tillamook for such a great icre cream product.

    Paul Porter Says:

While wandering a new grocery chain that opened in Utah, I found to my surprise, Tillamook Ice Cream. Having been spoiled by Tillamook Cheddar and Pepper Jack Cheese for years, the decision to try Tillamook Ice Cream was extremely simple. I have eaten ice cream from all over and yours is AMAZING! I have not tried a flavor I have not liked. In a day and age when most Ice Cream manufacturers are using whey as their main ingredient, changing their ice cream to “frozen desserts”, and seeing how small they can make the container, Tillamook is extremely refreshing and excites me.
The reason I ended up here today is because of Grandma’s Cake Batter. I am pretty certain that the product needs to be banned because for some reason I could not put it down. Needless to say, the children still have not tried that flavor. I was going to post a picture to my friends in Arizona to make them jealous and was curious, will you be expanding your ice cream distribution? Not that I really care, since I can find it everywhere in Salt Lake now. Thanks again. I may have to come to Oregon just to hang out for the day!

Hi there, Paul! You are so nice to send all of this generous feedback about Tillamook Ice Cream and Cheese. And I’m so glad to hear that you’ve found a love for Grandma’s Cake Batter Ice Cream. It seems to be a crowd favorite.

We’re working hard at finding ways to distribute our ice cream to expanded areas while maintaining our high quality standards. It seems there’s definitely a demand for it outside of the West Coast. Stay plugged in to the blog as we’d announce it here when and if we do expand its distribution.

    Hi,

The other day I was telling someone about the wonder of Tillamook chocolate peanut butter ice cream, and it gave me a craving for the stuff. I have no idea whether it’s sold in the Bay Area, though. I definitely haven’t seen it at Rainbow, Safeway, Albertson’s, or Andronico’s. The Tillamook website is no help, since it only tells me which stores sell their products in general, which so far has just meant cheese.

So has anyone seen Tillamook ice cream for sale in the area, or will I have to wait until the next time I go back to Portland to have some? If you tell me where to buy it I might even share some with you….

(It’s so good, by the way, because it’s got big ribbons of real peanut butter running throughout the chocolate ice cream base. Yum, I’m seriously making myself drool.)

    Thanks
