Tillamook Yogurt is on the Mooooove!
Good news for yogurt lovers! Our popular line of 6 oz yogurts is expanding with three new flavors, all made with no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, no artificial sweeteners, and no high fructose corn syrup. And like all of our products, Tillamook Lowfat Yogurt is made with the highest quality milk from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*. The latest additions to our lowfat yogurt line include creamy Banana Vanilla, tart Pomegranate Blackberry, and antioxidant-rich Blueberry Acai. Additionally, you can now find Vanilla Bean and Naturally Plain yogurts in new, larger 32 oz cartons.
As of February 1, Tillamook is expanding distribution of our yogurt. Fans in Arizona, California, and Colorado can now find select yogurt flavors – Oregon Strawberry, Raspberry, Vanilla Bean, Mountain Huckleberry, Marionberry, and French Vanilla Bean – at Safeway and Vons grocery stores.
We’re expanding and creating new yogurt flavors because consumers are demanding more lowfat yogurts that are as good to eat as they are healthy! How do you enjoy your Tillamook Yogurt? Plain Jane and straight out of the cup? In a yogurt parfait? In prepared dishes? Share your favorite way to eat Tillamook Yogurt here on the Loaf Life Blog or on our Facebook page!
*Please note that the FDA has stated that no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rBST treated and non-rBST treated cows.

My favorite flavor of yogurt was Orchard Harvest. Why was it discontinued?
Please bring it back.
March 10th, 2011 at 10:15 am
Hi S Lofton! I agree- Orchard Harvest was a great flavor. Unfortunately, we had to discontinue it due to declining sales. Have you tried any of our new flavors? If so, what did you think?
Thanks!

YAY!!! I’ve been in CA for about 4 years now and have missed my Tillamook Yogurt! I’m also a big fan of the Sharp Cheddar. :D Thanks for bringing it to CA finally!

Yippeeee!! For years I’ve brought as much as I could (code date allowing) home from our trips to Oregon. Husband just called to tell me he found it in our Safeway here in Phoenix and I’m THRILLED! Absolutely the best yogurt, bar none. Will you be sending the cranberry flavor our way? Thank you so much!
April 4th, 2011 at 12:18 pm
Hooray! Thanks for buying Tillamook, Mari-Anne! Hope you and your husband enjoy the yogurt. We don’t make a cranberry yogurt… but I like that idea! I’ll pass it along to our product development team.
Thanks!

I buy a load of Tillamook yogurt everytime I am in Portland, Oregon. My hotel has a refrigerator, so I am able to take the yogurt back to Washington DC. It is worth the hassle. Thanks for such a great product.

Wow Michelle… That’s what I call dedication! You’re welcome. It’s wonderful to hear how much you enjoy the yogurt!

Noticed Tillamook yogurt at our WinCo store last month at a good price and bought a couple of the plain in 32oz size. Wow… this is great yogurt! Very smooth and creamy with just the right touch of thickness and without the sharpness/bitterness that some plain yogurts can have.
I really like the Tillamook philosophy of no artifical junk or high fructose corn syrup in their yogurt – the plain only has three ingredients and you can pronounce all of them!
Since your plain yogurt is so smooth it only takes a little bit of evaportated cane juice (natural sugar) to make it a super treat. Decided to try the 32oz Vanilla Bean… waaay too sweet. I guess I’ll leave the sweetened flavors for others.
I’ve tried just about all the “normal priced” (i.e., not the over priced) yogurt brands and your plain is the best! Thanks for turning back the clock and giving us a great product at an affordable price and made from good simple food.

Wow, thanks, Robert! We’re so happy you enjoy our new Naturally Plain Yogurt so much. It’s a brand new product, so we really appreciate and value hearing your feedback about it.
Did you see our latest blog post about ways to cook/bake with plain yogurt? You might enjoy it:

I absolutely love your yogurt, especially the French Vanilla Bean and Vanilla Bean! No other yogurt compares! I am super intrigued with the Banana Vanilla flavor, do you know if this will be heading to CO?
June 16th, 2011 at 10:27 am
Hi Dennis! Thanks for buying Tillamook Yogurt – we’re so happy you enjoy it! Because we sell our products through distributors, it’s a little difficult for me to know exactly which flavors are in particular states or stores. I’ll follow up with you via email and provide you with the contact information of our broker for Colorado; he’ll be able to help you out.
Thanks!

Why can’t I order Yogurt and butter at this site? I know that Costco carries some of the cheese but I have never seen the butter or yogurt and Iam trying to get away from additives in my diet. Your yogurt seems to be just the ticket.

Hi Rebecca! We’re only able to ship cheese from our online store. I’m not sure where you live, but Tillamook Yogurt can be found in the Western part of the country in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Arizona, Colorado, Alaska, Montana, Nevada, and Utah. For more details on where to find our yogurt (and butter, too), please visit our Where to Buy page:

Check the ingredients for tillamook low fat yogurt: what is CORN STARCH doing in there? I put some in a strainer over night and zero moisture wept out. Disgusting stuff. After what Tillamookd did to The Bandon Cheese Company and the short cuts they take in their products (compare the ingredients between, say DAISY sour cream and Tillamook) i’m done w/ you guys; local company or not.
July 29th, 2011 at 8:51 am
Hi Shannon,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The corn starch used in Tillamook Yogurt acts as a thickening agent. We’re proud of the fact that all of our products, including our yogurt, are made with milk from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones. Our yogurt also does not contain artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors, or high fructose corn syrup.
Have you tried our new Natural Sour Cream? It’s made from only 3 simple, all-natural ingredients: Cultured pasteurized grade A cream, milk, and enzymes.
I also want to clear up some misconceptions about Bandon Cheese and Tillamook. Here’s some important history…
After the Coquille Valley Farmers Co-op became insolvent in 1986, a series of owners struggled to profitably operate the Bandon Cheese plant and store. At the request of Bandon’s owners, Tillamook purchased Bandon Cheese in April of 2000. When we were approached to purchase the Bandon brand and factory, we believed that buying it would ensure its longevity and maintain the Oregon heritage Bandon shares with Tillamook. Unfortunately, the milk supply was not available in the volume or at the quality we expect, and the facility itself was below our standards for consistency. Our first step to improve quality was to move production of Bandon Cheese to our Tillamook facility. Following several years of declining sales, the difficult decision was made to discontinue a portion of the Bandon Cheese line. We continued to operate the store, despite declining sales, until late 2005 when dangers from the deteriorating building forced us to close it down.
We continue to honor Bandon’s legacy by producing Bandon Medium Cheddar Cheese (using Bandon’s same recipe) at our facility in Boardman, Oregon. You can still find Bandon Cheese throughout the Pacific Northwest in WinCo, Costco and other retailers.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. I hope the information I have provided is helpful. If you have any more questions, please email us at info@tillamook.com.
Thanks!

Wow Shannon. A little too much black in your aura. We love, love, love Tillamook! I drive out of my way for the brand. It would be nice if Costco carried the entire line.
August 26th, 2011 at 7:27 pm
Hi, Shannon! Thanks for your comment! Costco is a great partner for us and they make Tillamook products available to a lot of folks. They choose which products they carry. You might ‘bug’ your local Costco and see if they’ll bring in the products you’re looking for. Thanks for supporting Tillamook!

what is the difference between French Vanilla Bean and Vanilla Bean yogurt? why does it differ in calorie count as well?
September 9th, 2011 at 12:43 pm
HI, Gwen! Thanks for your question, and your patience for this answer.
Our French Vanilla Bean Yogurt has more of a custard-like texture than the Vanilla Bean Yogurt. Vanilla Bean has a higher calorie count (210 per serving) because it contains more sugar (37 grams per serving) than the French Vanilla Bean Yogurt (34 grams of sugar, 190 calories per serving). Both are made with real vanilla!
All of our yogurts are made with no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, no artificial sweeteners, and no high fructose corn syrup. And like all of our products, Tillamook Yogurt is made with the highest quality milk from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*.
I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if this is the information you were looking for.

hey, I never used to like yogurt before until now. I love tillamook yogurt! I have a question. I’m wondering who distributes your yogurt? the grocery store I work at gets deliveries from CNS, Unfi (united natural foods), and tony’s fine foods. I know tony’s distributes your cheese. but do they do your yogurt? thanks

Love Tillamook yogurt!!! All flavors are awesome but my favorites would be Pomegranate Blackberry and Banana Vanilla. Sometimes a person here or there will give me a hard time on my lunch break at work where we make a Greek Yogurt. Maybe I need to move to Oregon and work for Tillamook!!!

Unfortunately, too much sugar. 8 cubes per serving. Wish there was a lighter version. Won’t be buying again because of that.

Hi there, Janet. Thanks for your comment. We understand and respect your concern about sugar in Tillamook Yogurt. We’re always looking for ways to improve our recipe so we really appreciate your feedback. I’ll make sure your comment is sent to our research and development team. Thanks again!

I absolutely love Tillamook yogurts – they’re the best! However, as much as I love that no corn syrup or artificial sweeteners are used, I have a hard time justifying 30+ grams of sugar in my breakfast (even for Plain yogurt) and so I only eat Tillamook yogurt as a treat now and then.
Do y’all have any low-sugar yogurts? If so, which ones?!
Yogurt talk aside, Tillamook is the best!

Hi, Lindsey! Thanks so much for your feedback about Tillamook Yogurt. We’ve found that our yogurt recipe is liked by most, but we do get comments about the sugar content every now and then. I’ll definitely send your feedback on the appropriate folks. At this time we do not have a low-sugar yogurt. I’m so glad to hear that you’re still a Tillamook fan, though!

Any plans to expand to New York state? I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Tillamook yogurts since I was in WA a few years ago, and no other yogurt in the price range is even comparable. Any plans to make it available to buy online? I guess I’ll just have to look for a job on the West Coast.

Hi there, Melissa! So glad to hear you’re a fan of Tillamook Yogurt. There’s always hope that we’ll be able to expand our distribution. Yogurt is a bit harder to transport than cheese. But we have fans all over the country that we’d love to share our yogurt with. I think you should definitely consider moving out this way. We love to have our fans close by! Thanks for your note.

Hi David, thanks so much for taking the time to connect with us here on the blog! I’m so glad to hear you’re a fan of our yogurt! Our Where to Buy tool can help you find other stores in your area that may carry us http://www.tillamook.com/wheretobuy/index.html. Bandon Cheese is mostly available in the Pacific Northwest, and I haven’t heard of any plans to expand distribution. But it never hurts to ask your local store!

Our family recently moved to Oregon and I was so happy to discover the delicious Tillamook yogurt! Marionberry is a favorite, but I like them all. One problem: I was lecturing my husband about all the cola he drinks, citing the 40+ grams of sugar in 12 oz (more and more research is showing that a lot of added sugar increases heart disease, etc.). He then walked me to the fridge and pointed out that my large container of Tillamook Vanilla Bean has 49 (49!!) grams of sugar per 8 oz serving: far more than Coke. Help! I don’t want artificial sweeteners, I just want yogurt less sweet than full sugar soda. :) Please! I would also like the taste better if it were less sweet.

Elaine,
Thanks for your comment! Have you seen the new Tillamook Light Yogurt? It’s just as tasty as the original Tillamook Yogurt but uses truvia, a natural sweetener.
