Hosea Rosenberg, Astronomer turned Chef turned Farmer
Although initially headed down the path to become an astronomer (yes, a real live astronomer), Hosea now uses his curiosity for unknown territories in the kitchen. He uses his New Mexico roots to inspire all matter of dishes, leading him to win numerous awards and accolades over the course of his career including: Bravo’s Top Chef Season Five Winner and seven-time, undefeated winner of the Flatiron Chef Competition. After time spent working as an Executive Chef at Jax Fish House, and starting StrEAT Chefs, Hosea opened Blackbelly Catering, a full service catering company that provides onsite operations from its mobile catering trailer. FYI, the name Blackbelly comes from a breed of sheep native to Barbados that he has on his farm – they’re a little shy, but SO beautiful!
