A multitude of flavors come together with this Bunk original: Caramelized onions and roast beef, horseradish sauce and Tillamook Vintage White Extra Sharp Cheddar. It’s a workout for your taste buds.
"Here’s another Bunk classic! These are some classic flavor combinations. We roast our own roast beef, but you can use any good quality roast beef for this sandwich." - Tommy Habetz of Bunk Sandwiches
2 tablespoons (1 oz) Tillamook® Unsalted Butter
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
½ cup (4 oz) prepared mayonnaise
½ cup (4 oz) Tillamook® Sour Cream
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1-2 teaspoons hot, prepared horseradish
Salt and pepper to taste
4 good quality poppy seed rolls, halved
1 cup (4 oz) Tillamook® Vintage White Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1 lb thinly sliced, rare roast beef
Caramelizing onions:
Over low heat, melt the butter and add the onions. Sauté the onions, stirring frequently, for about 45 minutes, until well browned. Season to taste. Finish with the sherry vinegar. Set aside.
Horseradish Sauce:
Whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard and horseradish. Season with salt and pepper.
Assembly of Sandwiches:
Liberally coat both sides of the roll with the horseradish sauce. Layer the cheddar, roast beef and the caramelized onions. Enjoy!
