Keeping It in the Family
We've always been owned and operated by the people who work the soil, milk the cows, and make decisions about the future of the company.
We think that the advantages of being a cooperative, as opposed to a corporation, have just about everything to do with the tastiness of our dairy products. Every one of our farmer-owners has a farm that produces milk for the co-op. We don’t think you can make good business decisions if you’re not an intimate part of what makes that business a business.
All profits from the cooperative stay in the family, with the farmers who invest in the co-op for the long run. So the proceeds go to the people who make the products to keep their dairies producing the highest-quality milk. And we think that just makes sense.
Also, all of our farmers live on or near the land they farm. Their quality of life depends upon the sustainability of their land and the animals they share it with. Which means they’re wholeheartedly dedicated to taking care of everything that carries the Tillamook name. It’s pride in ownership in the purest sense.
