This zingy take on America’s favorite sandwich starts with Tillamook Sharp Cheddar on grilled country white bread. Apple chutney adds a surprising, sweet balance to the cheddar’s bite.

  • Step 1

    Butter one side of each slice of bread and place the buttered side down.

  • Step 2

    Place the cheese slices on the bread. Add a little chutney to each sandwich and top them off with another slice of bread, buttered side out.

  • Step 3

    Heat a panini press or griddle. Add the sandwiches to the press and cook over moderate heat until the cheese is melted, about 6 minutes.

  • Step 4
