Step aside, wine- cheese has a new best friend. Tillamook partnered with Queen City Radio, a bar and beer garden in the historic Over-the-Rhine district in Cincinnati, to bring you an extra special, extra sharp beer and cheese pairing guide. Queen City Radio matched the perfect, tall drink of beer with each Tillamook Cheddar. The result is a series of matches made in citrusy, hoppy, cheddary heaven. The West Side Amber Ale with toasty malt meets our Smoked Medium Cheddar and proves that where there’s smoke, there’s fire. The Rhinegeist Truth India Pale Ale is the strong but certainly not silent counterpart to our Special Reserve Extra Sharp Cheddar that we never knew it needed. Tillamook Sharp Cheddar has been pining away for Fifty West Trees of Tahoe, a pale ale with a citrus hops and a crisp, piney finish. And finally, mild-mannered Tillamook Medium Cheddar has met its mellow yellow match in Braxton Haven’s German-style Hefeweizen with hints of banana and clove. Give these hoppy couples a try at home!
