For our next Tillamook Test Kitchen experiment, we decided to try our hand at a savory smoothie. We used half an avocado, peaches and Tillamook Honey Peach Farmstyle Greek Yogurt, and then we spiced it up a bit with some fresh basil leaves. It was delicious, and very filling! This smoothie would be the perfect breakfast or post-workout snack.

It took a bit of trial and error to get the savory to sweet ratio right, but we think 5 basil leaves is just right with the peaches! If you’re looking for an even more savory smoothie, try using ice ¼ cup ice and ¼ cup peaches and add a few more basil leaves.

Prep time: 4 minutes

Total time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 serving

½ cup frozen peaches
1 container (5.3 oz) Tillamook Honey Peach Farmstyle Greek Yogurt
5 basil leaves
½ of an avocado
¼ cup cold water
1 tbsp honey


Put all ingredients in your blender, starting with the frozen peaches. Blend ingredients together on medium-high for 2 minutes, or until thoroughly combined. If your smoothie feels a little too thick for you to drink, you can add a splash more water! Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
