One of my most beloved December traditions is sharing homemade cookies with friends and family, especially when they’re warm out of the oven and topped with a scoop of Tillamook Ice Cream. While you can’t really go wrong pairing cookies and ice cream, I did a little testing to come up with four of my favorite flavor combinations to treat your friends, family, and self to this holiday season.
White Chocolate Raspberry Yum with Cookie Cutter Sugar Cookies
The simplicity of the sugar cookie is the perfect match for the rich white chocolate base of this ice cream. The swirl (made with real Oregon Raspberries) adds the perfect punch of fruity sweetness to round out the combination.
Oregon Hazelnut and Salted Caramel Ice Cream with Chewy Gingersnap Cookies
This combination has it all: sugar, spice, and everything nice! The zesty ginger in the cookies is met with the salty sweetness of the ice cream for an utterly delightful harmony of flavors.
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
It’s no secret that mint and chocolate taste great together. Chocolate crinkle cookies are dense like a brownie, so the refreshing minty ice cream creates the perfect balance.
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Eggnog Snickerdoodle Cookies
Eggnog is one of my favorite seasonal treats that I like to savor in as many ways as possible while I can. Eggnog and snickerdoodles pack some spice, but aren’t as intense and overpowering as some other spices like ginger. For these cookies, I chose a vanilla ice cream to make sure the ice cream didn’t outshine the cookies’ flavor. Classic holiday favorites, together in each tasty bite!
