Enriched Communities

When our communities are strong, so are we.

Why Enriched Communities

In Tillamook County and beyond, our work and our people are intricately connected to our communities.

So, it just makes sense to invest in and improve them. To strengthen communities, we’re focusing on agricultural advocacy, food security, and healthful children—which are all integral to community resilience.

Community Investments

Our target for 2019 is to invest four percent of our profits back into our communities, well above many of our peers.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to real, wholesome food to feed themselves and their families.”

Oregon Food Bank

Through our longstanding partnership with the Oregon Food Bank, we donate large volumes of dairy products each year. Our largest fundraiser of the year is the KGW Food Drive, where we donate a portion of every Tillamook purchase made in March. We’ve also invested in one full-time position dedicated to understanding the root causes of hunger in Tillamook County and a delivery truck to deliver food to pantries throughout Tillamook County.

Girl Scouts of Oregon and SW Washington

Working with the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington and the Oregon Dairy and Nutrition Council, we developed the "Dairy Patch Program" to educate girls about science, tech, engineering and math concepts, farms and food production, and the dairy industry.

Oregon State University

We've pledged to be a keystone funder to help build a new dairy pilot plant facility within the OSU Department of Food Science and Technology. This investment will support ongoing development of the regional dairy industry as well as a qualified, educated, and trained base of knowledgeable workers to the industry.

#4amClub

To raise awareness around how hard farmers work across the country, we asked fans to wake up at 4:00 am and post a photo or video with the hashtag #4amclub to show solidarity. For every post, we donated to the Tillamook Future Farmers of America chapter for things like lab materials, agricultural tools, greenhouse equipment, and classroom supplies.

Soccer Clinic

To bring a soccer clinic to the City of Tillamook, we partnered with the professional women's soccer team, the Portland Thorns, and invited the community to participate. We also partnered with the Oregon Coast Futbol Club, a local soccer program, and donated funds for new uniforms, new fields, equipment, and program fees.

Heart and hands.

Today. Tomorrow. Always.

For over 100 years, our commitment to Stewardship has been a part of who we are and how we operate. Now, when you bite into a block of Tillamook cheese or a scoop of Tillamook ice cream, you’re a part of this journey too. Dairy Done Right is about all of us doing right by being good stewards.
