Cheesy Crab Melt
Crabby meets spicy in this recipe that’s sure to bring the heat. Our Spicy Colby Jack and Sharp White Cheddar Cheese makes it over-the-top bold and melty.
Ingredients
4 slices Tillamook Spicy Colby Jack Cheese
¼ cup Tillamook Sharp White Cheddar Block, grated
1 baguette, cut into quarters
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 cup Dungeness crab meat (or whatever crab meat is available)
¼ cup fresh dill, finely chopped
1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
2 tsp celery salt
1 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp black pepper
Zest from one lemon
2 tsp chives, sliced
1 roasted bell pepper or tomato, sliced
Set your oven to broil while you combine the grated Tillamook Sharp White Cheddar Block, mayonnaise, crab, dill, parsley, celery salt, paprika, salt and pepper.
Over each slice of bread, layer two slices of Tillamook Spicy Colby Jack and cook in the oven until the cheese has melted (about four minutes).
Remove from the oven and spread a thick layer of the crab salad mixture over each slice of bread.
Add a thinly sliced layer of bell pepper or tomato on top and broil in the oven for an additional four minutes.
After the sandwiches are fully cooked, garnish with lemon zest and chives.
Slice in half and serve.
