Stuffed Meatballs with Tillamook Mozzarella Cheese

This recipe takes the classic comfort of juicy, tender meatballs and infuses them with a heart of melt-in-your-mouth Tillamook Mozzarella.

35minserves 10

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 lb Italian ground sausage (hot or sweet)

  • 12cup Italian bread crumbs

  • 1 large egg

  • 12cup whole milk

  • 14cup chopped parsley

  • 12cup Tillamook Whole Milk Mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 14cup chopped onion

  • 2 tbsp minced garlic

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 16 oz Tillamook Whole Milk Mozzarella cheese, cut into 1" cubes

  • 48 oz of favorite pasta sauce

  • 1 tbsp fresh basil

  • Mozzarella cheese to garnish

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, bread crumbs, egg, milk, parsley, shredded cheese, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. Form a small amount of meat mixture into a ball. Flatten it out and place a cube of Tillamook Mozzarella Cheese in the center. Wrap the meat mixture around the cheese, forming a ball again. Repeat until all the meat mixture has been used up.

  3. Heat up a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for 10-12 minutes or until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Then, add your favorite pasta sauce.

  4. Transfer the meatballs and sauce to a serving dish. Sprinkle fresh basil and garnish with additional Tillamook Mozzarella Cheese on top.
