Apple Cinnamon Grilled Cheese Sandwich
The ultimate fall grilled cheese! Two beloved fall ingredients, apple and cinnamon, meet the Tillamook’s Extra Sharp White Cheddar. It’s funky, delicious, sweet and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
2-4 sliced of Tillamook’s Sliced Havarti Cheese
2-4 oz shredded Tillamook’s Extra Sharp White Cheddar
Thinly sliced green apple slices (~1 apple)
2 tbsp brown sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon
1-2 tbsp Tillamook Extra Creamy Unsalted Butter or Mayonnaise (or 1 tbsp each)
2-4 slices of sourdough bread
To prep - shred the Tillamook White Cheddar, slice the apple, and mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
Heat a pan on medium-low heat. Add a thin layer of mayonnaise (or butter or mixture) to one side of the bread slices.
Place bread mayo-side down into the pan. Add a small handful of shredded cheese, thinly sliced apple, and a generous pinch of sugar mixture.
Top with 2 sliced of the Tillamook Havarti Cheese, more shredded cheese and the second slice of bread.
Tip: Add whatever cheese you like. I enjoy pairing a favorable cheese (ie sharp cheddar, fontina, Swiss) with a mild and good melting cheese (ie havarti, mozzarella, gouda)
Flip every 3-5 minutes until bread is evenly golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Tip: Cook low and slow, this will ensure there’s a crispy golden outside on the bread and the cheese is fully melted.
Let sit for 2 minutes and then cut in half, enjoy!
