Grilled Cheese Skirts: We Teamed Up with Designer Rachel Antonoff to Take Melt to the Runway

Oct 20, 2026

Grilled Cheese Skirts

Four one-of-a-kind skirts inspired by the crispy, golden edge of a grilled cheese are now up for auction, with proceeds benefiting Feeding America.

Grilled cheese is getting a fashion-forward makeover. We've partnered with New York fashion designer Rachel Antonoff on Grilled Cheese Skirts, a four-piece capsule collection inspired by the "cheese skirt." That's the crispy, lacy ring of melted cheese that forms when it spreads past the edges of a grilled cheese sandwich. Each skirt is one of a kind and up for auction through Rally Up, with proceeds benefiting Feeding America.

Meet the Skirts

Made for people who take their cheese (and their style) seriously, this collection brings our quality and love of bold, melty cheese to the runway, with four one-of-a-kind skirts designed by Antonoff. Each look is a playful take on the iconic grilled cheese experience, turning a beloved comfort food into a high-fashion moment. There are only four, so there's no second helping.

  • Pepper Jack Mini Skirt: Inspired by those signature flecks of peppers and a kick of heat. The mini is short, spicy and unapologetically bold.

  • Sharp Cheddar Midi Skirt: Not too much, not too little. Consider it the wardrobe version of getting the cheese-to-bread ratio exactly right.

  • Four Cheese Maxi Skirt: What happens when we let the melt run wild. Full skirt, full drama. This one's for anyone who's ever fought over the crispy part.

  • Swiss Pencil Skirt: Sleek, structured and perfectly composed. A classic silhouette with playful organza cutouts for a distinctively Swiss twist.

Why grilled cheese?

"Grilled cheese is one of those universally loved foods that brings people comfort, with 61% of Americans naming it as their favorite sandwich,* and we wanted to celebrate it in a way that felt unexpected and unmistakably Tillamook," said Jinny Lam, Vice President of Marketing at Tillamook. "Tillamook Cheese Slices & Shreds don't do subtle, they bring bold flavor and an unmistakable melt. Turns out Rachel doesn't do subtle either. Rachel's playful and bold approach to design made her the ultimate partner to bring the Grilled Cheese Skirt to life, turning our iconic cheese slice into a full-blown fashion moment."

Good Look. Great Cause.

Starting October 20, 2026, anyone can bid on each skirt through Rally Up, with proceeds benefiting Feeding America. Whether you're a grilled cheese fan or a fashion collector, it's a chance to own an original piece of the collaboration and support a cause that matters. Bidding closes Tuesday, Oct 27 at 11:59pm.

How to make a grilled cheese skirt at home

The skirt doesn't have to stay on the runway. Here's how to give your sandwich one:

  1. Build your grilled cheese with our cheese slices and shredded cheese

  2. Cook it in a buttered frying pan.

  3. Sprinkle more of our shredded cheese around the edges of the bread so they melt into the pan.

  4. Let the cheese crisp into a golden, lacy skirt, then flip and serve.
