Crispy Prosciutto & Fig Jam Grilled Cheese
A cozy fall grilled cheese made with fig jam, crispy prosciutto, and Tillamook Cheese, finished with a golden, crispy Tillamook Cheese Skirt and served with creamy butternut squash and sage soup.
Ingredients
4 slices sourdough bread
1–1½ cups Tillamook Farmstyle Triple Cheddar Blend Shredded Cheese
4 slices prosciutto
2–3 tbsp fig jam
2 tbsp Tillamook Extra Creamy Unsalted Butter, softened
Cook the prosciutto in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Set aside.
Butter the outside of each slice of bread and spread fig jam on the inside.
Layer Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Cheese and crispy prosciutto between the bread.
Cook over medium-low heat until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, flipping once.
Sprinkle Tillamook Triple Cheddar Blend Shredded Cheese around the edges of the sandwich in the skillet.
Let the cheese melt and crisp until golden, then carefully lift the sandwich from the pan with the cheese skirt attached.
Serve warm, preferably with creamy butternut squash and sage soup for dipping.
Tip: Keep the heat at medium to medium-low so the cheese has time to melt and crisp without burning. Let the cheese skirt sit for a few seconds before lifting the sandwich from the pan so it holds its shape.
