Since 1909, Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) has been owned by farming families who believe good food starts with doing things the right way. That means caring for cows and farms, making dairy products people feel good about enjoying and sharing, supporting our employees and communities, and working to protect the natural resources that help sustain us.
We call this Stewardship. It has always been at the heart of who we are as a farmer-owned co-op, and it continues to guide how we grow. Over the years, we have shared our progress through our annual Stewardship Reports, measuring our work across our six Stewardship commitments, including Thriving Farms, Healthful Cows, Inspired Consumers, Enduring Ecosystems, Fulfilled Employees and Enriched Communities.
As our business and the world around us continue to evolve, we are bringing even more focus to this work through our Tillamook Commitment to Care. It is our way of making clear what has always been true: we may be in the dairy business, but we’re also in the business of caring – for our people, cows and land. Care shows up in the choices we make every day, from how we support our farmer-owners and employees to how we make food, reduce our environmental impact and invest in the communities we call home.
Care Has Always Guided Us
Our commitment to responsible stewardship has been core to our cooperative since its founding more than a century ago. In 2020, TCCA achieved B Corp certification, a third-party validation of our long-standing efforts to do business the right way. Our current certification runs through the end of 2026, and we value what it has represented. Recently, however, B Lab made significant changes to its certification requirements, and some of them no longer align with our stewardship priorities or the structure of our farmer-owned co-op. After careful review, we made the decision not to pursue recertification under the new standards at this time.
That decision does not change who we are or what we stand for. Certification has been one way to reflect our values, but it has never been the reason for them. Our commitment to Stewardship was here long before any certification, and it will continue with the same purpose and accountability.
Committed to Progress and Transparency
We will keep holding ourselves to high standards and sharing our progress openly. Our annual Stewardship Report will continue to highlight the work across our co-op, including efforts to strengthen farm viability, support animal care, reduce waste, invest in our employees and give back to our communities.
We know trust is earned through actions more than words. That is why our focus remains on doing the work: making high-quality dairy products with care, being transparent about where we are making progress, and continuing to improve where there is more work to do.
For more than 117 years, Tillamook has been guided by a simple belief: when we care for our farms, cows, people, products, communities and environment, we help build a stronger and better future for everyone who depends on them. That belief is not changing. If anything, our Commitment to Care reaffirms that belief and gives it new focus.
